Can’t Find My Dream Home? Reality VS Expectation?
Many buyers enter the property market with unrealistic expectations.
Buyers should recognise and accept the reality of the market.
Be prepared to adjust your expectations according to the reality of the property market.
Many buyers enter the property market with a fixed idea of the houses and prices they expect to find in the market. They would then try to match the reality of the market to their expectations of it. This is the wrong way to look for a house. Without a proper understanding of the market, what you expect may not even exist in Singapore. You should avoid setting expectations that are too high or too unrealistic.
During consultations with me, I will first hear the expectations you have. I will then let you know if the things that you expect matches the reality of the property market and find the closest reality to your expectations. If you are unable to accept the reality of the property market, then perhaps you should not even be buying because there would be nothing you can find.
You should be prepared to make some adjustments to your expectations. For instance, if you want a cheaper house, then you might have to compromise with a less convenient location.
